Hi there, hope someone can help with this, have also posted in Property&DIY:

We are looking to build a garden room/office/ summer house at the end of our garden and would welcome some advice and recommendations ? I looked on the web, but there are so many companies I don?t know where to start!

We want to use the building as a room the children can hang out in, that we can use as an office, plus use for some storage. We are looking for it to be used all year ? so would need to be fairly warm /insulated. Our garden is long (100 ft) although fairly narrow, so it can be a decent size.

There seem to be so many options out there that I?d really welcome some recommendations. I?m astonished at some of the prices I?ve seen on-line (£30K!!), so am hoping MNetters may have some good, cheaper recommendations!!

Many thanks in advance

No recommendations sorry but will be watching with interest as I'd love a garden shed studio.

we have this green retreats
DH works from home and is out there all the year round with one of those oil filled rads for heat in the winter. Might be more fancy than you need though?

Have you seen these Pods? www.o-pod.co.uk they're much more affordable and they're really cute.
I think I responded to your other post, so might have duplicated this! sorry!!

Am considering something similar so thought I'd send a reminder about the extra cost/s of delivery and installation when budgeting.

We've got a gorgeous spare room/office for my DH which we put in last year - it was £6.5k plus about £300 for the base. It's insulated and has power (had to pay to have that put in too, about £250 all in)... I'll find out from DH tonight who we used. It was amazing, came down from NEwcastle on the back of a lorry (we are in Suffolk) and was here at 7.30am!!

I'll be back

Right, well apparently it was www.regencytimberbuildings.co.uk so don't be put off by their website! I wouldn't have gone by the website alone - we found some on display near a local garden centre and were amazed at the prices!

I've put a pic of DH's office on my profile so you can see the sort of thing it is - it's 12' by 10' (I'm pretty sure, it certainly wasn't the smallest one they did) and was between £6 and £6.5k.. DH 'can't remember' and is currently working on the living room floor so he can 'be near my wife'. £6.5k well spent then (to be fair, he is in it almost all day)
