Question re growing Leeks/Spring Onions

This may sound silly, but I want to check before I order any baby plants....
if I plant 1 baby leek or spring onion plant, will this grow into/yield me 1 leek/spring onion?

and if so, why are they so expensive??? am seeing 6 baby leek plants for £3....which seems a lot if I'm only going to get 6 leeks out of it (although tasty)

or am I missing something and each plant will yield more than one???? I don't see how it can....!!!!

same for Spring Onions????

yes you are correct. One plant: one spring onion, and for leeks the same (except if you cut a young leek at ground level early you will sometimes get a second one growing up, so you might get two). Buying the plants is not really cost effective as you have realised, better to grow your own plants from seed.
