Has anyone grown bluebells from seed?

I'm moving house to one (in the US) with a bit of woodland behind it, and I'd really like some English bluebells. Seeds are vastly cheaper though they take three years to come to flower, and I've got quite a big area that I'd like drifts in, so has anyone tried seeds sown direct or shall I shell out for bulbs?

Apart from that I'm sticking with natives, but I can't resist bluebells.

I had a few bluebells when we moved here 8 years ago and have been sowing seeds each year to get more established. It is working, slowly is the word though. So depends how patient you are feeling!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I am happy to wait for them as long as I feel there's a good chance of them doing something while I'm waiting! In that case, a thousand or so bluebell seeds, please, Mr eBay.
