Bluebottles in compost...

I am veggie so there is no meat or fish in the compost - only garden bits (leaves, grass etc), veg scraps, egg shells and chicken manure from my hens. Could it be the chook poo that has led to Bluebottles? And what can I do about it?

I did turn it all out today and mix it up and saw no more flies but how do you deal with them, in case it happens again?
