garden inspiration please

my garden is just lawn at the minute, bar a hedge that seems to have been mostly killed by the frost and a few shrubs. I have lots of ideas, but I rally need to focus and decide what is the best approach. I would like to get away with planting large shrubs and trees but not having beds as such. Will this look messy. I don't want to be weeding too much I won't have time.this is what it looks like if you scroll down you can see the proportions. So where do I start?

What a lovely blank canvas you have there I think the worlds your oyster really, I don't think planting trees shrubs will look messy, it all depends on where you choose to position them.
What type of garden do you want/like, has anything taken your fancy? For example formal/structured, relaxed/cottage garden, or something different like a jungle garden? How much lawn do you want, and which shape etc.. Once you decide this, you can choose the best layout and which plants to put where

I think a cottage type garden would be lovely. Thank you I will take a look at those links

You could also dedicate an section to wildlife ... perhaps a meadow area with wild flowers, minimal effort, but looks beautiful!
