Grass Seed & Rain ... Timing Question

If the forecast says that it's going to rain heavily on Wednesday and you have some bare (very dry) patches of lawn to reseed.... would you?

a) Scatter the seed on Tuesday onto very dry soil, firm it down and hope the rain doesn't bounce it out of position
b) Plant seed after the rain into damp soil and hope for more rain later in the week
c) Damp the soil with the hosepipe Tuesday, firm down the seed and let it pour Wednesday

Not normally this indecisive... :) Thank you all

b. I have been known to run out & chuck grass seed actually in the rain for max effect. remember to smack it doen with the back of a shovel to discourage predators pigeons

Thanks for the feedback. It actually rained slightly yesterday so I went out, roughed up the damp surface, liberally sprinkled on seed, pressed it in and am looking forward to the forecast deluge!! The birds are going to think it's Christmas :)
