What do I do with bulbs when they've finished flowering?

I've got 2 pots on my kitchen which have done really well. One is hyacinths and one is miniature daffodils. They are just about done now but I don't want to throw them away. What can I do with the bulbs, can I just plant them somewhere in the garden?

Sorry for perhaps simple question but I am a complete learner!

Leave the foliage on, that's the most important bit. The goodness goes back into the bulb and feeds it. Remove from container and put in a part of the garden that you don't need to see. In the Autumn you can did it up, it will have shed the foliage, and re pot and bring indoors for your display. It may even have multiplied Smile

You can even dig it up!
