iris bulb care

Hi- I'm a complete newbie at gardening (just about manage to keep my potted herbs alive), and I'm sorry but need to ask some questions which may seem really basic.

I bought a pot of iris bulbs which were in bloom. The blooms have now wilted and I was wondering if I need to replant the bulbs into a larger pot, and if they will ever re-bloom (next year presumably?)

I have lots of iris in the ground here, as its sunny and very well drained, so they like it. If you have similar conditions, then plant them out. In a few years time, their rhizomes ( like bulbs ) will have grown, so dig them up and split them, making yourslef more irises for free. I did this last year and now have 5 times as many, for free.
