front garden is in desperate need of a good spruce. is there anything i can just chuck in the ground now that will pretty it up and last for a while?

i am a rubbish gardener, and also have very little free time, so would like stuff just to sling in the ground and leave well alone. Is is too early for bedding plants?

Not too early for pansy's or primulas/primroses. You can buy big packs fairly cheaply from places like B&Q. They will last most of the summer too. Plus the primulas will stay and last forever so think about where you are planting them as they will flower year after year.

You can also buy daffodils and tulips which have already started to come up you just need to replant them in your garden, again these will come up every spring.

You are ment to dead head them but I don't do this very often...they will take care of themselves, which by the sounds of it is what you are after.

Happy gardening

How about putting in some evergreen shrubs? Then you won't have to keep re-planting.
