Re-using plastic over potatoes

Last year I planted my potatoes through black plastic. Is it OK to reuse the plastic or am I just asking for blighty trouble?

I would think it's OK - but I'd try to lift the plastic and give it a good wash in a bucket of hot soapy water. I was much heartened a while ago when I heard Bob Flowerdew say he never washes pots before reusing them.
