We had this a few years back. Thought it was foxes digging their dens or something along those lines. I was a bit concerned at the thought of wildlife setting up home in my garden and looked on the web for help. Turned out not to be foxes -or wildlife of any sort. It was the rotting remains of a long gone TREE . We just lobbed some hardcore down and filled in with soil

interesting, its actually quite near our pear tree so not sure if its the remains of a tree.. might try the hardcore anyway, although dh is into the trap idea! Shock

we're in london, so could be well foxes! urgh...
