pruneing roses

can some-one tell me if it would be ok to prune my roses back now, if not when. thankyou.

Traditionally you cut them back a bit now so they don't get wind-rocked over the winter, then cut them back properly when they start growing again in the spring.

If you cut them back too early they will just grow back straight away. But to be honest they are tough as old boots - if they are getting in the way hack them back a bit now then do a proper job in the spring.
