Protecting young trees from frost

I've just put 5 young trees into my garden and am worried that the weather has quite quickly turned cold. I have put a layer of manure around the roots but wondered if I should do more to protect them from the cold?

Any ideas please Smile

If they are british natives they should be fine!

You would normally plant bare-rooted trees in winter, I have never covered them or anything to protect them.

Thanks - I have several Prunus varieties and a Mountain Ash. Hopefully they will be hardy!

BTW, Protect them from rabbits eating the bark if you are rural.
