Choisya. Should it stay or should it go?

I have a choisya. It is a thug. I am forever cutting it back and it grows massively. Am beginning to think its more trouble than its worth. Perhaps I am cutting it back too much.
Can anyone give the thumbs up or down, and maybe suggest a replacement.

I like green choisya, the leaves are lovely and glossy, don't like the yellow one, it always looks sickly. As it's so vigorous I'm guessing it's green. Keep it (or send it to me)
