Quote for new fence - reasonable?

We have just had a quote for a new fence but I have no idea how reasonable it is (seems very high to me). We've had trouble getting people around to quote so I don't have an alternative at the moment. Anyway, it's for a 68 feet length, 6 feet high closeboard with concrete posts. The existing fence is completely overgrown and a lot of work needs to be done to cut back the plants / clear the area. The quote is £2,400 all in from a reputable company and the work is expected to take 3 days. I'm in London. I would appreciate any thoughts.

To be honest, that sounds reasonable - fences always cost masses more than one expects. We has a 17' fence, about 5' high done several years ago and it cost #400.

Many thanks for your response.

I don't think that sounds bad at all. It will be the work of clearing that will cost the most I suspect.

Sounds reasonable.

I have a feeling that concrete posts cost more than timber. IMO timber posts look nicer, a bit more classic, so having timber instead of concrete may save you money if you need to trim the cost.

Do try and get more quotes though, have you asked neighbours etc for recommendations?

Many thanks for your comments - I feel reassured that I'm not being ripped off. I've just managed to get another recommended company to quote next week, so that will be interesting to compare.
