a choisya next to a philadelphus?

I'm not a gardening expert but I would choose a dark leaf choisya rather than the vibrant green/yellow version because otherwise it would be too similar to the philadephus. The two different shades would work well. Does that make sense? Probably not...back to the experts.

when will they both be in flower as they both have quite strong scents? if its the same time it could mean that you can't smell either of them or you could have a strange mix?
