What can I do to keep pests off my sprouts? Organic methods please although I am happy to kill all the little buggers rather than give them their freedom.

What sort of pests?

I pick all the caterpillars off mine and I have an organic certified spray called "bugs Away" or something similar for other things.

You can squirt with a washing up liquid solution for some things, my brother is the expert, sadly, not me, I usually just do what I am told (we share an allotment.) Next year, we are going to invest in some fine netting stuff or similar to keep pests at bay.

Put on your gardening gloves and rub the caterpillars off. Not even our hens will eat those.

Thanks, not looking forward to it though.

i have just cleared the leaves of caterpillars - there were hundreds of them - i couldnt believe it, but they are just stripping leaf after leaf Sad

the brussels are so so tiny - the size of a pea - is this good? maybe the caterpillars have eaten too much of the plant already...

Just wait, you don't eat the brussels till winter, so they have plenty of time to grow yet.

Clearing the caterpillars will help the plant.
