Does anyone know where I can get some Russian Vine?
Can't find it anywhere...do I have to go to a specialist place or something?

Crocus sell it

They sell it in Wyevale too. I was tempted to buy one to grow through some big, boring conifers we have. But chickened out - I've heard some horror stories about it killing everything in it's path. Looks quite pretty on the pictures, though, doesn't it? Grin

Yes it looks really nice. Will try these places, thankyou.

I bought one many years ago. It was in the bargain basement bit in a garden centre for 50p and almost dead.

I nurtured it(I have a thing for nurturing almost dead plants back to life) and when it had recovered planted it so it could grow over my Mums old garage.

I can understand why the other name for it is 'Mile a minute' , it grows like crazy. Within 3 years it had totally covered the garage roof.

It's very pretty when it flowers and if you have somewhere where you are happy for it to take over , and want plenty of cover then go for it.

But think seriously about whether in years to come you want something that grows 'so' mad, because it is virtually impossible to dig out, the roots go for miles. When my Mums garage was pulled down we spent hours digging roots of it out, and there was still loads left, in the end we gave up and chucked bleach on the remaining roots.

Never had any problems with it killing other plants, but to be honest where I planted it there were no other plants.

Am considering keeping it as a container plant...would that work? Would that allow me to control its growth?
