Stump grinding

How much would you/have you paid for a tree stump removal. We've got a self seeded ash which we have tried to dig out but the roots go all over and deep. To hire a machine was around £110 for a day , man quoted £100 inclusive.

If you've dug down around the roots already, you could cut it off below ground level and then treat the bit left in the ground by cutting slots in it and painting it with Roundup.

(I had seven to take out when I bought my house so it was too expensive to get someone in to do it. This worked well)

If you can't be bothered to saw slots like KAthy, getting a cordless drill out and holing it works well to hold the Roundup
