weedy drive

I have a large block paved driveway. It's long enough for 4 cars so you get the idea of it's size. Weeds have popped up between near enough every block. It looks awful at the moment. I sprayed with weedkiller a month ago with little results. Has anyone got any tips on how i can banish these weeds quickly and easily myself? Which weedkiller product would be best? If i don't sort it out soon i'm sure the neighbours will start to complain!

I always find that hand weeding gives much better effects, much quicker than weedkilling. If you settle down to it with a radio, it's actually very relaxing (or I think so).

The easiest way is to persuade visiting relatives to do it, but you really just need a weed knife or scraper - this kind of thing:

if you don't go grendels very admirable route get a weedkiller especially for paths that promises to keep the weeds at bay for some time, like pathclear. Pull out what you can then spray the rest. You will still have to pick the dead bits out and you will have to do this more often than the packet says but it should keep them at bay.

If you get it reasonably clear then a really really good blast with a powerwasher on a regular basis will help shift the new weeds coming through.

All good advice here, pull out as much as you can, ideally after it has rained as that will be much easier as the roots will soften & come free more readily. If you are having a heatwave, soak the drive and leave it for a bit. Above all, avoid doing this on your own if you can, rope others in! Otherwise just break it down, bit by bit, cheerfully In my experience it is better to concentrate on one area at a time rather than to attack the whole area. Then use the weed killer of your choice. Let us know how you get on.

P.S. Unless you have hired help, it's a good idea to pick up an offending weed when it greets you in the eye. An exception to this is when you are about to go out and all dressed up!

just put salt on the crevices .it last for ages and kills them off,or use caustic soda if you have no pets

Second the salt. Works wonders.
