Has anyone got a 'bike cave'?

We have a small garden and no shed,my small terrace house is littered with kid's bikes, footballs, waterpistols and so forth. I've seen these on amazon and am wondering if this is the solution I've been searching for?

If you have one, can you tell me is it big enough for things other than bikes? Is there anyway to hang things up? Is it easy enough for children to open by themselves?

Any other ideas you have to solve my problem would be gratefully recieved too.

Oooh - am very interested - what is a bike cave?

schroeder · 13/07/2010 19:27

It's a kind of tent you can keep bikes in.

They are supposed to be big enough for 2 bikes and have a zip opening.

It is a good name isn't it?

Wouldn't it be easier, and cheaper, to just buy a normal pop up tent. I am considering this for all our bikes and garden toys, etc.

It's a fab name - I have visions of the bat cave!

I don't know bananalover? Are pop up tents tall enough?strong enough? The bike cave is competitively priced at about £35.

We don't have one as we created a bike store/shed adjoining our main shed which houses the kids bikes/scooters/toys/general outdoor tat etc. Its great!

Sounds like a bike cave would be really useful for you schroeder, it would keep the DCs things confined to the garden.
Another option is small shed but this would be much more expensive and would take up more room too.

schroeder...where's that from?
Iv'e lokked at these and the one I saw was £144.00!!

schroeder · 13/07/2010 22:25

It was on amazon- maybe the one you saw was different? Bloody hell £144-you might as well get a proper little shed for that.

Sorry I haven't worked out how to do links, but if you just search for 'bike cave' you will find 'em.

Amazon reviews for it are not good.

OOh , We have about 4 bike caves (yeah we should really get a shed!). They are really great easy cheap storage, had them for about a year now and keep bikes and lawn mower and other garden stuff. I think they are great instant cheap storage (imho).

Hope that helps!
