Anyone planted turf in July/August?

I know it is best to do it in spring or autumn but I really won't be able to do it in the autumn and the garden looks dreadful without grass.

You will have to water more or less continuously at least several hours every night or it will just dry out in the hot sun.

It happened in some new houses built near us. All the turf had to be relaid again in Autumn anyway.
