Post-16 options near Barnet for a student with mixed GCSE prospects

We're in Barnet - DS has ADHD, GCSEs next year, might do OK, might really struggle. School has no 6th form so he'll have to apply elsewhere. We know about all the options for kids who will get solid results, less so about what the options are otherwise. He should have 5 GCSEs at 4+ in worst case scenario, but at this rate will end up having to retake English Language, so it won't include that. Open to A-levels or BTech. I reckon if he can get down to 3 subjects he might do better at A-level than GCSE, like my nephew did.

We've been told Highgate Wood may have some wiggle room on grades as not oversubscribed and my nephew went there and was happy with it. Will look at Barnet & Southgate Collehe.Capel Manor and City Central on radar as he's interested in Animal Care. Can consider places in Barnet, Enfield, central London maybe parts of Herts and Harrow (Somewhere like Ealing or anywhere in East London won't be commutable).

Other than Animal Care/Management only subjects there is keenness on is Drama (the one GCSE where a 7 may be possible) but I'm aware he may not get the English grades for it at 16+. Otherwise quite good at science. Used to be quite into history but has gone off it a bit since GCSE and again, Eng Lang issues with essay subject.
