Maths, Physics and Biology combination?

Does this limit DS's Uni options? He can't do Chemistry as his 6th form is oversubscribed and he has no place. He chose Geography and Biology but has since decided on Physics rather than Geography, and wanted to change to Chemistry from bio but he can't (unless someone drops out).
He did get a higher GCSE grade in Biology however.

He doesn't know what he wants to do after his A/Ls - probably Maths degree, maybe architecture, but he really has no idea or passion for anything really. So it's difficult to advice him and we though that doing Chemistry alongside Maths and Physics would have given him the most options as he's not really into the arts and humanities. But he did like Geography, but he can't do it alongside Physics in his 6th form.
Thanks in advance.

Biology sounds a slightly odd choice if he’s fairly adamant he wouldn’t want to do anything biology related at uni. Also, FM GCSE is often not taught as intensively as other GCSEs (seen as a bit of a nice extra) so I wouldn’t necessarily write off giving FM a go. I think: maths, physics, DT and FM would go really well and maximise options for maths/design/engineering type degrees.

He only chose Biology because he was 1 mark off an 8 in it and it was the subject that he improved most from his mocks, in which he got a 6. He had to go to compulsory intervention and he really improved and got good feedback from the teacher, resulting in him feeling good about it - he thrives on good feedback.

The FM teaching in his school was done alongside normal maths and he said he got confused on what was maths and what was FM so he found it challenging to revise for FM - that's what he says anyway. He was doing some FM work in the summer and he was making good progress with it, but I fear that his confidence in it as been dented due to the failed exam.

My DD did biology but didn’t really have a huge interest in it. She loved her other subjects. As a result biology just felt like such a slog (not easy and not interesting to her). She didn’t do FM GSCE but did do FM A-level. It’s a bit of shock to the system initially but she really ended up enjoying it and it was obviously v complementary to maths and physics.

It looks like he's been given a chemistry place now, so not doing Biology anymore.
So it's Maths, Physics and Chemistry now. Thanks everyone for your input, really appreciate it.

Great, good luck to him!
