My son loves cars, it's all he's interested in and all he wants to do as a career.
He is very keen and enthusiastic and this is always acknowledged.
He enrolled at our local college last September doing automotive maintenance and repair level one.
After a couple of weeks they said that he had decent knowledge or cars already and moved him up straight onto level two.
So he has now just finished level two, and has got a placement at a local garage, but they are saying that he lacks some of the basic skills that he would have learnt on level one.
They don't really have the time to teach him as it is a working garage.
Not really sure what to do about this as he is missing the basics but he can't go back and do level one now 🤷🏼♀️
I was really happy for him when they said they were moving him straight to level two, but I'm wondering now if they've done him a disservice.
He really enjoys working in the garage but feels out of his depth when he doesn't know really basic things. Not sure where to go from here 🤷🏼♀️
