Recommendations for a sixth form boarding school

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations for a good sixth form boarding school for my daughter. I’d like a school with a strong sense of community, good academic standards, and a balanced approach—not too strict but still structured. A welcoming environment is really important to me.

If you have any suggestions or personal experiences to share, I’d really appreciate it!

Not Oundle or Oakham schools.

Potentially Stamford though.

I teach at Cheltenham Ladies' College and my DD is in the sixth form.

It is excellent. Pastoral is second to none and academic is outstanding.

All of Dd's boarding friends love it.

Felsted in Essex. And The Leys in Cambridge if you have a lot of money. It does look nice though and Cambridge is a great place to stay if you are visiting.

Stamford doesn’t have that many boarders. It’s mostly a day school.
