Spanish Language residential in Spain

Hi. My DC is in Y12 and taking Spanish. The college does not offer a trip to Spain but highly recommends that students do a week (or more) language course in the summer in Spain. They do not recommend any providers though, so I was hoping someone on here has experience with a company or a course they would recommend (or not). Thanks.

My niece did this one in San Sebastian, and loved it TANDEM San Sebastián - Spanish Intensive courses. They have various accommodation options but she stayed with a host family, if your DS is going across with a friend they have the option of them both being with the same family.

Ds went to A Coruna with True Spanish Experience and benefited a lot. Small company, family host, very happy wuth them overall but they were perhaps a bit TOO small on that week as ds hardly had any other students there! In the end they merged ds wuth a couple of older students who were there from Korea. Did wonders for his Spanish as he barely spoke a word of English all week but it was probably a bit more challenging than I ideally would have chosen. He seemed fine about it though.

My son went to ISC Spain's Alicante summer school. Accommodation was in University halls of residence. Students were very well supervised (a little too well for his liking!) So I felt secure him being away from home.
Timetable was very busy and full so suits students who have plenty of stamina and energy. Spanish classes were combined with a sport of your choice and there was also social trips out. Hundreds of students so great chance to make friends. Rooms were singles with en suites and catered from dining room.

My DD did 3 weeks with them in Salamanca 10 years ago. Also known as Enforex.
