My daughter has just finished 3 a levels at sixth form .She's not ready for university yet but would like to do btech level 3 at college. She is 18.Would she have to pay or would this be funded?

I'm pretty certain she would have to pay as she will already have level 3 qualifications.

Probably easiest to contact finance department of relevant college.

Why does she want to do a L3 BTEC? It’s the same level as A levels (I presume she is aware). Is it bc it’s a subject she wishes she had done? Would she be able to take a higher level instead?

Yes its a subject she wish she had studied .Also she is asd and selective mute. Staying in full time education for another year or two would help with confidence and also sociallyfor her.

Does she have an ehcp? That might make a difference.

A diagnosis yes but no echp

Is there a foundation degree course she could do? I know they have them for some Arts degrees, and she would get funding until 19. Many are held in FE colleges. She wouldn't get funding gor another L3 course.

She already has a full set of Level 3, so if she wants to do further study at the same level she’ll need to pay. If she had an EHCP it might be different but a diagnosis is not enough.

What has she done A Levels in and what would she like to do now subject wise, or at uni? There may be some other options

It's worth asking the question of the colleges. My DC did the same (but the other way around, BTec first then A Levels) and the college were happy for her to do it.
