My daughter received a phone call at 4.45pm this afternoon to say her A Level ICT exam was now on monday morning instead of the 30th January as she had been told. I was at parent teacher meeting last week and it was also confirmed to me for the 30th!! Poor child id distraught with worry, she is planning to go to university and the teacher that phoned has told her if she fails she can resit at the end of the year.

Nearly top of the class with her marks but she had other exams too and thought she had another 10 days. Can i complain?

Is this an internal, maybe mock exam? Or an exam for a piece of assessed coursework?

Dates of public A level exams cannot be moved (but they are not in January afaik). I didn't know there was still an A level in ICT so is it maybe a BTEC and this is a date for an assessment? If so, and it actually counts towards her grade, I woukd contact school on Monday and ask if it can be sat later to give her the time she thought she had. Obvs if it is an external exam and school made a mistake there's not mych you can do. Maybe check dates yourself going firward?

Are you sure this isn't a mock? A Levels are in May not January and I don't think there is one in ICT. January external exams went out with Modular A Levels.

I too doubt that it is an actual A level exam. They don't start until May normally
