How to find a really good A level maths online tutor

Following on from my other post, my DS has messed up his pure maths end of year 12 exam and needs to get up to speed over the summer. Just not sure how to go about finding a really good tutor to help him. Any advice would be helpful.

I used AK tutor me on Facebook for my son… absolutely brilliant support. Was teams call. Not going to lie it isn’t cheap!

My cousin's son had problems with maths too! She found a company called Tayberry and hasn't looked back since. They've been so good that my neighbour has signed up to use them, and now another woman I know from baby and toddler classes has signed up for her 10 year old too!

Ds used a tutor on tutiva.co.uk/ but it wasn't for maths A level but for passing Cambridge Uni maths entrance exam so building on A level maths content.

The tutors listed on there show their availability time slots. Ds worked on an ad-hoc system with the tutor. It was all done over zoom and a shared whiteboard.

Posted too soon, the tutor was great. As Ds was under 18 they have safeguards in place for messaging etc that I felt comfortable with. We were in the room for the zoom stuff until Ds felt comfortable himself.

Do you live near a university? You could see whether the School of Maths can help. Also try the School of Ed for Maths PGCE students.(recent grads or incoming; the timing may be wrong). Perhaps compose an advert the School(s) could circulate? I think F2F is optimal but online is fine. In the latter case you could try several unis.

Hi, I'd definitely recommend: www.kipmcgrath.co.uk/ely
very kind and helpful people. They provide excellent online maths tuition.
