Access to HE science textbooks

Can anyone recommend biology, chemistry or physics textbooks for the Access to HE science course?

I'm mentoring a student at work who asked if I could recommend a general textbook in my subject. I was somewhat horrified that they haven't been recommended any textbooks to use and teaching seems to consist of watching YouTube videos There dont seem to be any specific textbooks written for the course.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

There are different Access to HE Science dipomas offered by each Access-validating agency (AVAs, the equivalent of exam boards). There isn't a single science Access diploma course, any more than there is a single biology, chemistry or physics A-Level course.

It's unlikely there will be a single recommended textbook for each subject, and there certainly won't be one written specifically for the course, but the best bet is to go with the ones made available through the college's library.

Not a text book but DS likes Khan Academy online (free).
