Cardiff Uni 2021 Facebook Group(s) DS can't get added - any advice?

As above DS is trying to find out who is in his flat in halls and make contact etc but has joined about 4 Facebook groups (including the official one thru the link in the email from Cardiff) but is still pending on all of them - any suggestions please? TIA

I admin several private Facebook groups and the main reason join requests sit in pending is that they haven’t answered the joining questions (if there are any) or their profile is brand new and looks a bit fake eg: has no information, friends, pictures etc, or privacy completely locked down and all details hidden so can’t verify them.
I would normally message them asking them to clarify things and if they don’t reply within 14 days delete the request. Usually admins can be contacted directly, or is there a message function on the group page to check with?

My son, who doesn't use Facebook has found his flat mates at Cardiff via WhatsApp group. Apparently there are loads of active groups by house number or flat within the house.
