Can someone tell me about NCFE Level 3 extended diplomas?

I was looking for alternatives to traditional 6th form colleges and found a course I think my DS might enjoy. It's a Level 3 NCFE course. Is that equal to 1 BTEC or A level? The course says it's full time but would students usually do more than 1 level 3 course or just the one?

Of course, I research it on the day Alevels are out so I can't ask the actual provider as they are super busy with urgent questions.

If it is an extended diploma it is 3 A level equivalent

oh, so the one course is equal to 3 Alevels?

Potentially yes. But ft is not necessarily all day every day. You can also combine level 3 and A levels.

I called the FE college but the telephone advisor was not much help......

What stage is your ds at? After tomorrow focus will be on post gcse enrolments.

Yes my DD is getting his GSCE on Thursday..... it's all so confusing. He is enrolled in the sixth form but I just don't think it's for him. I think he needs something more vocationally based. Getting through GCSE was like pulling teeth

Can you make an appointment to meet an adviser to discuss options? Either later this week or next?

Yes, I will do that. Great suggestion
