Core Maths AS level?

Ds did well enough in his GCSE's to be invited to do 4 A levels in his sixth form (grade average of minimum 7.5).

He will be doing Biology, Chemistry and Psychology but doesn't really want to do a full fourth A level. He would be interested in Core Maths AS level though.

Is this worth doing?

So I managed to persuade DD to take Core Maths (I think).. Only to receive her timetable and it's the only lesson she has on Wednesday Week A so will have to go into school just for that! ouch

@noblegiraffe I hope you don't mind me bothering you again.. She has been timetables 4 hourly lessons (over 2 weeks) is this normal amount you would expect?

The 3 A levels have 9 hours each over 2 weeks, so she has a LOT of frees where they will be expected to work (either at home or school as they can come and go).. (31 hrs of lessons and 19 hours of frees)

DD has just phoned me to tell that Core Maths is compulsary for anyone taking A level Biology who isn't taking A level Maths, so all the time I spent researching and convincing her to take it wasfor nothing :-) - although I did earn some brownie points with DD as she has just thanked me for telling her how important it was it and is happy that the school cares enough to make them do it :-) Turns out she won't be the only 1 in the class after all ..
