hi there , I was wondering if anyone had has issues with the SEN dept providing suitable education and further education for a child that finds it impossible to attend a main stream or a placement that is like a school environment, I've got a 16 year old who wants to be a mechanic but do you think I can find any providers to give him the help he needs in getting his qualifications that is tailored for the person, he has a garage placement but nowhere will help with the qualification side of it, I've emailed all colleges, council and placements I can find and nothing, I cant be the only parent with a child like this, yes he has an EHCP but the council are no help, he has been home schooled by a tutor because of his disability and issues around school. he was meant to go to a special college but after all the interviews and home visit and telling us what we need to put in place and we did it all, they informed us oh sorry where full.
