Going to college, AFTER university degree, funding help?

So just wondering if anyone else has any experience of applying for a college course after doing a four year honours degree (Scotland) where it was covered by SAAS and I took out a small student loan.
I’ve been looking online and can’t understand what my funding options would be, has anyone else gone through this and have an idea of what I would be eligible for?
Thanks in advance!

Give the college you are looking to attend a call, their student finance team should be able to help.

My understanding is that if the college course is in a completely different academic field/career path then you would be in the same position as if you had no existing degree. State funding does cover retraining in a different discipline. If it's in the same discipline/career path then the "equal and higher qualifications" rules apply which basically mean you don't get the state subsidy

For second university degrees you will have to pay fees but they are capped at £1800 (Scotland residents only) and you can apply for the loan as normal. This is what my daughter is doing but you should check if the college course you are planning to take is eligible for this funding.

Full time or part time?

If part time you should be fine.

A couple of years ago the guidance was if your degree was more than 5 years ago you got funding. My friend applied last year and got turned down then appealed and got given it.

Best to phone SAAS directly.
