To ask if anyone has advice for SBM - ACA exam?

Hi everyone,
I’ll be sitting all 3 advanced level exams this july and feeling a bit overwhelmed - especially with SBM! Having not sat FM and BST, I am really struggling with the questions.
I think I am getting better at allocating approximate marks for each requirement but when it comes to writing the actual answer (if it relates to anything other than general strategy), I am lost. I have already looked at the technical content for valuations, NPVs, reconstructions but I feel like the methods are applied differently for each scenario which is confusing.
Any advice?
Also if you have tips for the open book, that would be very helpful as well!
Thanks so much

Are you studying with FI, BPP or Kaplan? If so, follow their advice on building up your exam file with examples from the FM/SBM syllabus. It is tough trying to take this if you have had exemptions, so go back to your tuition provider's "Do you remember" recaps from FM & BST. Although at this stage you are probably feeling a little overwhelmed with the sheer size of the questions, you are simply trying to give a client advice around a specific issue (unlike the unstructured issues in Case). A lot of the marks will actually be for strategic advice, so discussing the pros and cons of different strategies,, rather than a purely numeric answer. Make sure you build up a good file of examples for NPVs, IRRs, business valuation models, forex & interest rate hedging with the numbers, but also which method suits which scenario.
