18th birthday in exam season

Open to suggestions please for making DC1's birthday extra special when it's slap bang in the middle of their exams. The main celebration with friends will be a week late when they've all got a couple of days clear before the last 2 papers (IB, so 6 subjects!). Main gift will be an experience later in the summer. What can we do on The Day?

A really nice breakfast?

Spa? Release some mental stress maybe

Nice breakfast could be a plan. No morning exam that day, so could have bucks fizz, etc.

Spa won't work I'm afraid - spending time on enforced 'relaxation' is exactly what they won't want to do.

BBQ in the garden with a few close friends, a couple of drinks and early finish - at least that’s what we did for both DS’ who had exactly this same situation. We parked the celebrations proper until after the exams.

Nice breakfast at home, nice evening meal in favourite restaurant. Or if morning exam the next day a cocktail bar for early doors (just so she can order by herself) then a take away!

We let ours invite a few friends to a favorite restaurant on the Saturday night. Waiter primed to serve them a very limited amount of alcohol. They felt very grown up, and enjoyed it, but got to bed at a reasonable time.
