Can you change to another college to do the second year of BTEC level 3?

Hi, my daughter has just started her BTEC in creative media production, and she's very much enjoying it. I'm extremely proud of her, and know it took a lot to scrape the entry requirements - she has mild SN.

Unfortunately I have suddenly got an extreme problem with my work, my hours have reduced dramatically, and its possible I shall be out of work altogether in April. I am hunting for work locally, but we're in a very awkward place geographically, and its very sparse. It's looking quite likely that we're going to have to relocate to have any luck and even then we'll be limited in choice due to being in social housing and needing to find an exchange.

If we had to, would it be possible to change her to another college for the second year of her course? In fact I'm wondering if it might be a good thing, y'know widening horizons ready for the big bad world, but I suspect I may be clutching at straws tbh. Is this doable?

It can be possible to transfer but doesn't happen often, and might not be easy. Probably best to speak to the Head of School for the subject asap at the college in your new area, and at least you can find out if/how it could be managed. Good luck Smile
