Don't know what to do. My daughter is on the reserve list for Musical Theatre Course do we sit and wait and hope people don't take there places or go for a second chance where could go 3 ways of stay on reserve list, offered a place or withdrawn altogether. Do t know what will be best. HELP

Has she auditioned anywhere else? The main thing is not to panic. I went through the audition process a while back as a student...not at the Brit School but RADA etc.

I did get a place at one of the top three but only after three years of trying. I had various recalls and eventually got a place.

The reserve list can result in a spot but as you know...it might not.

She needs to try at more than one place really. Not only to increase her chances but also to gain experience of auditioning.

Thank you this is the only place she wanted so didn't apply anywhere else.

I know of 2 who didn't take up their places last year but only declined after gcse results so you might have to hold your nerve on the waiting list.

OP, if she wants a career in musical theatre, then she really, really needs to audition at more than one place.

But as Lizs says, maybe someone will drop out? If it doesn't work out this year though, she should get a part time job/do more studying, join a theatre group if she's not already in one and plan to audition for 4 or 5 courses next year.

There are other very, very good courses which turn out professionals every year.

Are there any advantages to not taking s second chance? Presumably if they can offer a place to second chance students this will be ahead of students currently on the reserve list?
We were in a similar position last year, DD applied to Tring but it’s the only school we applied to. If it hadn’t worked out then she would have stayed at her previous school and upped the out of school activities. Is that the fall back option for your DD?
