A levels mocks to real A levels

Do students generally improve their grades from the mock exams to the real thing? Or is it a case of just keeping up?

I've taught a-level for 20 odd years. In my experience, it's typical for a student to go up a grade in the final exam, maybe because they are more motivated but also because we have a longish period of revision and exam practice before the real thing which we don't have time for before the mock.

That's good news. DD got 3 As, and needs them for her medicine application. One of her friends hasn't done so well - Es and Us. DD is concerned about her because she wants her to do well.

Sometimes that works as a good kick up the arse Smile

DD's school produce target grades and have told us these end up being very accurate as to what is usually achieved. It might be worth DD having a talk to her tutors. If any of them have any doubts, at that stage they can discuss with her any weaknesses.
