PGCE - money to survive...

userwithgreycats · 21/05/2017 10:33

I'm consider applying for a PGCE, ideally I'd do primary maths where the bursary is £6k, otherwise secondary maths where it is £25k+. My question is...what other money do you get for the year? I have 2 children under 3. Really want to know if I could afford primary or not?!

Maintenance loan.

You'd get maintenance loan, amount dependent on household income. You'd also be able to claim tax credits but, again, depends on household income.

As it's classed as undergrad, it's treated the same way as normal student finance.
