18-19yr old staying at college Tax credit ??

hi,my son is in his second year at college fulltime A levels finishes June2017

he will be 18 in a few weeks and wants to do a 3rd year at same college,he has told me he needstodo it full time otherwise he has to pay

i have no idea if that is correct as only recently talked about it,now my ??

if he starts his 3rd year full time in september will he still be entitled to child tax credit and child benefit (he will be 18 by september) or do we lose all entitlement??

Yes you will still be entitled until age 20.

oh he said if its part time he will pay/fulltime not

think i need to speak to the college,who would i ask,i have no idea as havent done this before

does anybody know how many hrs is classed as fulltime

sashh do you know how much the course cost approx

16 hours is full time. My son spent 3 years in college. He didn't have to pay.

Yes but had your child got 3 A Levels after the first two?

Under 21s do not have to pay for their first 'full level 3 qualification'

OP have a look at the college website/prospectus, costs should be there

No under 21 is not the same thing. If your ds is under 19 on August 31st the course will be free . The Alevels are irrelevant.
