Hi, I've applied for PGCE Further Education and Training in Mathematics and have been invited for an interview - yay! Grin
Now I need to prepare and would like to ask you all lovely people to help me out. My final aim is to teach adults rather than children.
So the questions I would like to ask are: Which Maths topics have you never cottoned on to? If you hate Maths why do you think that is? Which Maths topics do you think are useful to you?
Many thanks for your assistance and time Flowers

Congratulations OP!

Could i be really cheeky and ask if you know of any sites where i could practise my maths? I am thinking about a degree but not sure if i should go for maths or what and am not ready to commit to anything but would like to be able to test myself and maybe improve my maths. I took the OU's test last night to see if i could do their maths degree and only got about a third of the questions.

Martha, is it A-level degree maths that you want to practice?

I did a module or two of OU maths before I did a full time degree and it prepared me fairly well.

So if it's A-level kind of stuff then I'd recommend getting revisions guides and go to university of YouTube to clarify things. Honestly, it's great! My Mechanics lecturer was pretty rubbish at uni so I mostly learned it off YouTube.

I can send you 1st year calculus course material complete with lecture notes, worked exaples, tutorial sheets and solutions.

Yes tatiana A level maths. Thanks that would be great if you could. I still have my course notes and A level text book from my access course so can use it too but its all quite familiar to me. Will check out the OU modules and youtube as well thanks.

Can I send files through here? If not I would need your e-mail address.

I did MST121 Using Mathematics and MS221 Exploring Mathematics. Now, it was six years ago so module names might have changed.
