Home Insurance for Foster Carers

Looking for home insurance company recommendations. I need a policy for both contents and building.

Also did you need to declare fostering as ‘business use’ when applying?

My understanding is that you do need to declare That you are fostering - as Looked After children will be part of your household. I don’t think it’s business insurance - as surely it is not a business. The majority of carers get only ‘boarded out allowance’ to cover basic expenses. If you are a fee paid carer that - it’s not strictly employment. Could you try contacting fostering network for advice

I have "normal" home insurance.
Just tell the insurance company that you're a foster carer and that's it.
No need to get business or any special type of insurance.
