How do I make friends/find support with other foster carers?

We are going through the early stages of the fostering process at the moment and it would be great to speak to others that are doing the same or who are foster carers at the moment for support and friendship. Could anyone point me in the right direction please? Thank you :)

The assessing workers in our LA match people up with other foster carers when they are going through the assessment process for support. Maybe ask them?

my agency has local groups that meet up once a month and I am sure that wouldnt be unique. I used to go even before I was approved. Unfortunately we dont cover your area so I cant be of direct help.

I’m ST5 and applying thought out local council. There is a buddy system and Facebook group but only once approved.
It is a bit lonely during the application period though. Some of our training has been via Microsoft teams and it’s been nice to see a few faces going through the same.

What about asking Barnardos services that may assist carers, I must admit I have very limited knowledge of the area, but that's my guess.
