Skills to foster while working in a school

Hello!

We have been given a few dates to do the skills to foster training but unfortunately they are all during school time. I can't really take time off as we get the holidays off.

Just wondering what other people did in a similar situation? Do I bite the bullet and just ask for 4 days unpaid or should I wait for one in August? I already had a day off this year for my wedding so don't really want to have to ask again if I can avoid it!

Are you planning on carrying on working once you’re approved? I only ask as you’ll need to attend a lot of meetings during school time.... supervision, training, meetings and appointments for the children.

Also, have you started the assessment sessions yet? You may we’ll be expected to do these during school hours.

Just something to think about if it’s not already been discussed.

August is quite a way off and it might hold your assessment up by a long while. Is this ok with you and your agency?

I'm planning on quitting completely so I'm available all the time :) and we're doing our assessment sessions on Saturday mornings as she knows we both work full time.

I haven't spoken to them yet about possibly doing it in August as I wanted to talk to school first and see if there was any possibility at all of me taking time off. Just wanted to see other people's reaction on here first :)
