I made a big mistake, but so then did the so called professionals and to deflect any blame from themselves my wife and I have been subjected to so many untruths in erroneous reports, one by the ssw and one by the so called independent reviewing officer. my legal advisor and my fiss support are flabbergasted at what these people can say and write with impunity and the web is full of other carers/parents stories who have suffered at the hands of these people, how can they get away with it. I have not touched on all of this lengthy story.

This thread does not seem like a good idea sorry

So it's a conspiracy and every single professional involved lied... for what purpose? You admit you made a mistake? Isn't it possible they just have a different view of that mistake and they're not 'lying'

Are you a foster parent?

A very close friend of mine had ss involvement a couple of years ago. She was enraged by the report full of lies from ss. I read it. There wasnt one lie. She just didnt see the issues.

both reports binned after investigation and apologies called for my wife and I, and induction training called for ssw and many references to very poor report writing. May be I am not seeing the issues like the investigator and fiss worker and legal advisor then

I recently had a SW tell some really outrageous lies about me in a report. I complained to her and presented evidence to prove that what she said was not true. She wrote a new report which was, if anything, worse! I feel like I have to give her one more chance to amend the report before I start with a formal complaint, but it is very wearing. Fortunately it's easy for me to prove that she isn't telling the truth (she claims X said y and X is willing to state that they said no such thing because it wouldn't be true and also letters from my GP to prove that she is making up diagnoses).
I think there is scope for any person in authority to abuse that authority, it isn't unique to SW. I have great support and access to legal help, otherwise I might not have felt so positive about getting through it, but it has still been a huge struggle.

it is as you say very wearing and also not unique I also was able to prove the untruths but how many more people cannot and still these people will do the same to others

Why do you think the SSW and IRO lied in their reports? Something must have motivated them to do this?

Are you able to say what the "mistake" was?

I am just curious as to why.
