I am considering applying to foster but would like some advice on whether to apply to Lancashire County Council or one of the Independent Fostering Agencies.

Does anyone have any experience with any of them in this area?

I would ideally looking to foster aged 10 and above and would consider children with Special needs. I would also consider young mothers with babies.

I have spoken with a couple of agencies who are keen for me to apply as this appears to be where the majority of their placements are.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We foster for LCC and we have been told on numerous occasions that they are short for middle age and teen, also mother and baby placements. We were approved in March had an eight week wait, then we have not been empty other than the odd night. Have had a brill experience so far with LCC, lots of support. If you want steady placements I'd say go with LA. Inbox me if you have any further questions. Good luck with whatever you decide Grin
