For a long time I having been looking for other grown-ups who were fostered. Apart from one person, an old boy of my school, I haven't found anyone who wanted to chat about their time as a foster child.

Then I was told about Facebook, "You can find anything on Facebook" they said. So I signed up but every single group rejected me as a member because I wasn't a current foster parent. I'm sad about this because I reckon that the Council has a loud voice, the parents a quiet voice and the foster children almost no voice at all.

Have you tried the Care Leavers Association?

Imwas in care for a short while, but my older brother was for longer and phased out. They are both part of the Care Leavers Association, there is a local network with two hour meetings regularly, and an email group

Old Timer, I feel for you! I think you have posted before. Did you watch the Lorraine Pascale programme about foster care last week? It showed me how different it was when my parents fostered 40 years ago. I couldn't imagine them not having records of where a child was placed!

I'm not sure where you will find the support you want. It might be worth asking the fostering network if they have any links? If it is particular aspects of foster care you want to talk about for closure, it may be worth considering counselling.
